ZENAIDA CELLARS
Zenaida: The Latin genus for Mourning Dove which so often call our vineyard home. Zenaida is located in the Templeton Gap area on the west side of Paso Robles, at the base of the Santa Lucia Coastal Range. The 30 acre property boasts stunning vineyards and the original homestead of the property, dating back over 100 years.
Zenaida is a small family operated winery founded in 1998 by winemaker and owner Eric Ogorsolka. Eric’s 20+ year background in viticulture and wine-making began with the family vineyards in Paso Robles. In 1992, after earning a degree in Ecology and Systematic Biology from California Polytechnic in San Luis Obispo, he continued his education in Enology at UC Davis. Eric built on his experience with positions at wineries in Templeton California for Wild Horse Winery under Ken Volk and in Healdsburg California for Kendall-Jackson Winery, finally returning to Paso Robles to launch his own project in 1998.
Eric believes in a minimalistic style, insisting that the most unique and beautiful wines come from vineyards grown in balance. He therefore utilizes sustainable farming and winemaking practices on his 22 acre west side vineyard. The wines reflect the unique soils and climate of the “west side”. Characterized by warm days and cool nights, the wines are floral, fruit intensive, and full bodied.
